BECOME A MY VOICE, MY POWER! MENTOR
Become a mentor
My Voice, My Power! is a group mentorship program that supports self-identified girls and gender diverse youth to develop skills that support gender-based violence prevention. This pilot project will be provided for participants in Grade 4 and 5 in schools in Port Moody, Burnaby and Surrey in Fall 2024 and expand to include grades 6-8 in various Metro Vancouver schools in 2025.
Being a My Voice, My Power! mentor, you will get the opportunity to:
- Connect with self-identified girls and gender-diverse youth to help build communities that are supportive, inclusive and safe
- Support participants to explore their identities, rights, and boundaries
- Ignite the power and potential of youth teaching young people to advocate for themselves and others
- Encourage youth to feel confident and hopeful about their future
- Improve your leadership, group facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills in a school environment
- Become part of the Big Sisters’ My Voice, My Power! community
